Cajun Fish Fry Recipe

Classic Cajun Fried Catfish, soaked in buttermilk and crusted in spicy seasoned cornmeal, is more than just a dish—it's a deep South tradition wrapped in a whole lot of flavor!

Equipment
Frying Spatula
Dutch Oven

Ingredients
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 Cups Cornmeal
2 Tablespoons Onion Powder
2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
3 Tablespoons Cajun Seasoning
½ Cup Yellow Mustard

Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a large resealable bag.
  2. Add mustard to another resealable bag.
  3. Drop your fish into the mustard mixture and allow to sit for about 15 minutes.
  4. When you're ready to fry, (the temperature of the oil should be 350°F) take some of the fish out of the mustard and drop into the fish fry mixture, to coat completely.
  5. Drop into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes. Remove and allow to drain on some paper towels.
  6. Repeat with the remaining fish.

Notes
The longer the fish can sit in the mustard, the better. Allow to sit up to an hour at room temperature.
